Newbie Mod / Mini Mod & Ideas Thread.

Opiette's very successful version of the game.

Hey nice acid rain. I like how there are pockets of acid that occasionally burst.

Tip: Try to make the cloud "float," or at least not just shoot upward that quickly. And maybe the acid should burn through things a bit slower. Unless you like crazy unrealistic super-duper acid... :D

First post, first mod. Based around element 'Unstable'. I might add other elements to react with Unstable later. Let me know what you think about it!
Code: Select all

Sorry, it's Cajun-Style Acid. TO THE EXTREME!!!

And ok I'll play around with the physics of the cloud...

revised my mod, now includes crystals but is far from finished. It is really large so.. How do I put it on here without putting it between [ code ][ /code ]? Thanks in advance :D

Just go ahead and put it in the code tags, after about 2.5-3in of code showing it automatically makes a scrollbar so it won't take up as much space as you think. If you don't want to do that, you could upload it and give us a link to it.. I would still go with the code tags though. Entire physics files have been put in code tags before, so it's no big deal and no different from anyone else.

Thanks, but I'm currently redoing the whole thing; it was way too complicated. It would take alot of unnessecary work to get to the final result. I won't tell too much, but you'll see it when I've finished it. By the way, what did you think of the mod in my first post?

It's good. It has a nice concept and has good form, and there's a lot of work shown there.

On another note, the final thing I plan to do before releasing my mod as a beta to the public and let people realize how horrible it is, I'm making a full nuclear decay chain and it's going to be SO FUN.... Not really. It's going to be really tedious, but SO AWESOME to watch Uranium decay all the way until stability at Lead. Coming in the next release will be an isotopes section to have even more monotonous coding along with it. It's going to be big... It's going to be... ATOMICSAND

Nice idea, but don't go blaming yourself it isn't fun. If you think so yourself, it won't work out. Just stay positive. From what I've read so far about Atomicsand, you're planning to get it as close to reality as possible, just with different timespans, for example, 1 frame is 20 years. Maybe you could add some really crazy things radioactive elements make happen in real life, because the only thing many people know is that it can EXPLODEZORS and that it can cause cancer and mutations. Now I'm on the subject, mutations could be interesting too. Like making plant go crazy when it's been hit with radioactive stuff. I hope you think my ideas are useful and I look forward to Atomicsand's release!

Yeah I planned on adding real interactions... Unfortunately no one but a chem buff would realize that the reactions are actual. Like when Thorium interacts with air or when Radium interacts with water... But anyway, it will be fun, or at least should be, to anyone, but I must say that if you know a lot about chemistry you can really get to realize all the real interactions I made, and all the ones I made up to make it more interesting. For now, most of my radioactive elements just kill plants and burn them up but you know I could get into some fictional stuff.
