I know it's never a good idea to post a non-mod thread, but the last one furthered the technologies of WxSand so much, it must be done.

This thread is designed to show what new technological discoveries you have made. No, this isn't a place to show your latest mod unless you figured out a way to do something no one else thought possible which is in the mod. This is about everything that could further the good of all modders. My dream is one day, innovations people come up with will be used and explored by modders, not just ignored in favour of the dine-a-dozen mods that pollute the front page. So if you have any innovations or creations, post them here for discussion and constructive criticism. Who knows, maybe one day this could lead to a new future in the possibilities of WxSand.

I actually think this is a great idea. This could be the best thing for all modders. Hopefully this doesn't get locked.

Just for info, there was a similar thread many months ago, but it died after one particularly fruitful invention.

Well, I'll start off with something simple. I managed to make a magnet, or at least an object that, when an object enters a certain range of it, is moved directly to the middle. This can be used for many purposes.

I have made one of those before, yet... if you place the metal too far inside of it there's no reaction therefore you need many neighbor lines.
I was thinking about making a rocket hit a building that way....

I made wireless communication/teleportation, when everyone said it was impossible. I need somebody to fix my signal wave, though, because it's sorta messed up (I would be grateful if somebody did this). To prevent lag, make a tube of wall and put the transmitters inside it, so that the signal doesn't go EVERYWHERE and lag badly.

Making a tube of wall is the same as a wire.

Yes, there was another thread about this same topic. it was over 25 pages long and very awesome.


PS: I have been reading about swarm behavior and i am planning on making an ant mod that uses it to be very efficient. Would that fit in here?

No, not like that kind of tube of wall. I meant a hollow box of wall, with the nodes on either side of the box. It prevents the game from lagging because of the signals.

Wireless teleportation doesn't conserve matter if you have more than one receiver, since each one can receive a single particle wave. If you have to have a tube of wall to stop lag and multiple recievers, it's not worth it and you might as well use purple's pipes.

I have one. An auto firing turret. It fires when stuff gets near.
